Public Relations Team

The Central Bedfordshire Canine Trust is a registered charity, committed to promoting responsible dog ownership, responsible dog breeding and representing all dog owners. To help achieve this; the public relations team proactively contacts and makes representation in the media to ensure all dog owners in Central Bedfordshire are represented and in order to ensure a positive voice for the Central Bedfordshire Canine Trust. As a result the Public Relations team handle hundreds of enquiries each year; including those for our flagship event, The Central Bedfordshire Dog Show and new initiative “Dog Owners Get Smart”.The Public Relations Team of the Central Bedfordshire Canine Trust is led by Chief Executive, Gary Gregory and backed up by in house and outsourced media and public relations experts.

What Does The Public Relations Team Do?

The Public Relations team co-ordinates public relations and promotional activity promoting all areas of The Central Bedfordshire Canine Trust in a consistent, high quality image, which values the Central Bedfordshire Canine Trusts charitable objective. On a daily basis the Public Relations Team has a wide remit including; lobbying and political affairs, advertising the trust, running the new “Dog Owners Get Smart” initiative, representing dog owners in the media, representing dog owners with local authorities, MP’s, councils (including attending consultation meetings) and running the trusts Media & Press Office (which issues press releases, comments, and interviews) and of course maintaining quality communications with our members and supporters through a range of mediums including the Canine Times Publication, the trusts website and printed literature. The Public Relations Team also investigate and adopt new ways of the trust reaching its target audience using the latest Social Media including Face Book. The Public Relations Team works closely with the trusts Board of Trustees, Executive Advisory Committee and Central Bedfordshire Dog Show committee, organising advertising and promotional material for the trusts events and shows.

The Central Bedfordshire Canine Trust Brand
In June 2010 the Public Relations Team led by the Chief Executive started undertaking the massive task of rebranding the Central Bedfordshire Canine Trust from the grass roots up. The purpose of the rebranding was to firmly cement the Central Bedfordshire Canine Trusts values and unify all the different areas of the trusts work in one universal voice. This process is already substantially underway, but will continue until 2011. The ongoing task of the Public Relations Team is then to maintain, protect and popularise the Central Bedfordshire Canine Trust brand to ensure that the trust remains the premier canine organisation in Central Bedfordshire.
