The Central Bedfordshire Canine Trust held its presentation evening on the 21st July 2010 at Kensworth Village Hall. The trust was honoured and privileged to welcome as presenters at the event, the Chairman of Central Bedfordshire Council, the Right Honourable Cllr Peter Hollick and the Deputy Leader of Central Bedfordshire Council, the Right Honourable Cllr Richard Stay.
The Honourable Chairman of the Council and Deputy Leader of the Council made a formal attendance at the trusts presentation evening to recognise the personal development and achievement of trust members and their dogs.
During the visit the Chairman of Central Bedfordshire Council spoke with trust officials to learn more about the trusts work, especially in the areas of health & welfare and representing dog owners. The Chairman and Deputy Leader of Central Bedfordshire Council presented Kennel Club Good Citizen Dog Scheme Certificates to trust members, who recently passed the scheme tests at the trusts dog training classes. The scheme is the largest dog training scheme in the UK, examined to national standards and is at the forefront of promoting responsible dog ownership.

Also on the programme was the presentation of Responsible Dog Breeder Awards to four local dog breeders who have made an extraordinary contribution to responsible dog breeding and pedigree dog health in Central Bedfordshire. Awardees were; Mr & Mrs Sandiford (Hernwood), Mrs Sheila Gaffney (Praytens), Mrs Pat South (Borderella), Mrs Candler (Maidenbower) & Mrs. Pat Gregory (Eidas).
Two further awards for “Outstanding Contribution to Promoting Responsible Dog Ownership” were awarded to two Central Bedfordshire Canine Trust volunteers Mrs J Spencer & Mrs Margaret Pymm.
Speaking on behalf of the Central Bedfordshire Canine Trust, Pat Gregory (Chairman) said “We were very honoured that the Chairman & Deputy Leader of Central Bedfordshire Council were able to attend and present the awards. All of our members had an enjoyable evening, celebrating their dog’s achievements and recognising the achievements of local responsible dog owners. We are very proud of them all”.
