The trust currently makes provision for Ring Craft training at Kensworth Village hall on a Wednesday evening; one session at 4.30pm and one session at 8.30pm.
The trust is continually reviewing training activities and funding. It has been suggested that Ring Craft provision should be reviewed by the Executive Advisory Committee of the trust prior to a vote and formal passing and adoption by the Board Of Trustees of the Central Bedfordshire Canine Trust.
The options highlighted in the consultation are as follows:
Option One – Continuance
The trusts Ring Craft classes would remain unchanged. Requiring further subsidy and support from the Central Bedfordshire Canine Trust, general fund.
Option Two – Reduction
The evening 8.30pm Ring Craft would be stopped, allowing the human and venue resource to be used to enable the much needed expansion of the Obedience training section of the trust. The 4.30pm Ring Craft would remain unchanged. This option would also maintain a provision but reduce the subsidy applied to Ring Craft.
Option Three – Withdraw Funding
The final option is to withdraw funding of and running of classes directly by Central Bedfordshire Canine Trust, and stop all Ring Craft classes. Instead assistance would be made available to others operating Ring Craft in the county of Central Bedfordshire.
