Judge Sue Malster selected Dotty as her winner based on the criteria of the “Happiest, Healthiest and Friendliest Dog”. Dotty won a super rosette, the Michelle Wiltshire Memorial Trophy and a 12kg bag of dog food.
Reserve Central Bedfordshire Pet Dog Of The Year went to Halley, an rescued Irish Racing Greyhound owned by Angela Porter. Halley has been in and out of 6 homes, before settling with Angela , which made the win even more special.
Patricia Gregory of the Central Bedfordshire Canine Trust, which organises the annual competition said; “It was yet another great and nail biting final to the annual Central Bedfordshire Pet Dog Of The Year Competition. It is a great, fun competition which really showcases local pet dogs. The winners done very well.”
This was the first year the annual competition had been held at the Houghton Regis Carnival, with kind permission of the Houghton Regis Town Carnival Working Party and it was free to enter, l thanks to the event sponsors Doggy Style Grooming [Markyate], Barking Heads Dog Food and logistics sponsored by Hartwell Ford, Dunstable.
