CH APRIKA ROUTE SIXTY SIX JW SHCM (NELL) a Boston Terrier, owned by Mrs Jan Mason, was crowned Central Bedfordshire’s Top Dog after winning the Central Bedfordshire Canine Trusts annual points competition league and being award “Dog of the Year 2010”. After an extremely successful show year, Nell gained a staggering 594 points in the competition league, which allocates a number of points to each award a dog wins at a Kennel Club Licensed Show.

Also receiving awards in this year’s Competition League was Mrs Pat South (Borderella) who won “Kennel of the Year” for the most points accumulated with two or more dogs owned by the same exhibitor. “Best Novice Exhibitor” in this year’s league (which is awarded to the dog with the most points, whose owner has only started showing in the last twelve months) was awarded to Mrs. J. Godfrey with Tragus Rudo (Alfie).

Chairperson of the Central Bedfordshire Canine Trust, Patricia Gregory, said “We would like to congratulate this year’s winners on their fantastic achievements and show wins, we hope 2011 is as successful for them all, as this year has been.”

The idea of the Competition League is not only to recognise those dogs which have done well in the show ring, but also to promote dog showing and encourage new people and dogs to enter the show ring. The Points Competition League is free, and is open to all members of Central Bedfordshire Canine Trust AND all electors of Central Bedfordshire Council.
